The client
Apatura specialises in the development, construction, and future operation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy projects, and energy infrastructure that power clean energy solutions and enable essential data centre services. By creating the connections and capacity needed to support the renewable transition and the digital economy, Apatura is shaping a future powered by clean, renewable energy—one that fosters both prosperity and sustainability.
The goals
Apatura’s business plan involves strategically overcoming a multitude of barriers in order to unlock the opportunities that lie ahead in the path to net zero. From residential communities’ attitudes towards BESS, to the relevant local MPs’ public stances on renewable energy, specifically BESS; from the planning consent process to the government support for schemes and businesses which support the growth and development of data centres and BESS – specifically, ‘green data centres’. The PR goals were therefore to build the profile of Apatura as a leader in the battery energy storage space, as well as an expert in driving the necessary change in the energy transition.
The solution
Spreckley embarked on a rigorous six-month campaign to build brand awareness for Apatura.
Stage one of the PR programme centred on promoting key milestones for the business and engaging with tier 1 media across both trades and national press. Storytelling centred around key planning consents for local areas in Scotland, with media outreach focussing on a balance of renewable energy and climate trade industry outlets, as well as Scottish nationals and regional publications.
Stage two would subsequently follow into a more tailored thought leadership programme, with the foundation set through building core media relationships with milestone news.
